His beat includes Oakland City Hall and he has covered the local campaigns.  Kuruvila previously reported for the San Jose Mercury News for six years and attended UC Berkeley School of Journalism.\n\n\n\nMARTIN REYNOLDS is Editor of The Oakland Tribune.  He has been a reporter and editorial team member since 1997.
