DESCRIPTION:Come to the "Inside Oakland Breakfast Forum" and hear from people who affect the policies and progress of the city in which we live and do business. \n\n\nFriday\, May 21\, 2010\n\n8:30 - 10:00 a.m.\n\nOakland Chamber Board Room\n\n\n\nFeatured Speaker: Oakland City Councilmember Ignacio De La Fuente\n\n\n\nIgnacio De La Fuente was first elected to the Oakland City Council in 1992\, he served as the chair of the Council's Economic and Community Development Committee until January 1999. At that time\, Oakland adopted the Strong-Mayor form of government that removed the Mayor from the City Council and created the position of Council President. Mr. De La Fuente became the first Council member to be elected by his peers to serve as President of the Oakland City Council in 1999. \n\n\n\nJoin Chamber members for a discussion of how the City's legislative branch of government grapples with approving the city-wide budget and crafting innovative and fiscally responsible policies designed to improve the lives of all Oaklanders.\n\n\n\n\n**Admission:  Free to Chamber members\; $10 for non-members.  \n\n\n**RSVP required by Wednesday\, May 19\, 2010.
