She served as AC Transit Director since 2002 during which time the transit agency made great strides in improving service and investing in alternative energies. \n\n\n\nShe previously served as a Legislative Aide to Assemblymember Audie Bock and was Policy Outreach Director for the Transportation and Land Use Coalition. Ms. Kaplan earned her law degree from Stanford and a masters degree in urban and environmental policy from Tufts University after attending college at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she studied psychology.\n\n\n\nJoin this energetic\, new legislator in a discussion of important issues affecting the residents and businesses of Oakland.\n\n\n\n**Admission:  Free to Chamber members\; $10 for non-members.  \n\n**RSVP required by Wednesday\, January 14\, 2009.
