Tomiquia Moss was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom as Secretary of California’s Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency in November 2023 and sworn in February 2024. She oversees 12 departments and 40 boards focused on housing, homelessness, consumer protection, and civil rights.
With over 20 years in public and nonprofit leadership, Tomiquia is a recognized expert in housing and homelessness. In 2019, she founded All Home, a Bay Area organization tackling homelessness and poverty through regional collaboration, policy advocacy, and grantmaking.
She previously led Hamilton Families and held senior roles under the mayors of San Francisco and Oakland. Tomiquia has served on numerous boards and committees, including Cal ICH, SPUR, and the Bay Area Council. She holds an MPA from Golden Gate University and lives in Oakland with her family.
